Carnosine is a safe, well-tolerated naturally occurring dipeptide comprising the amino acids beta-alanine and L-histidine. L-Carnosine is naturally produced in the body by the enzyme carnosine synthetase. It is found in high concentrations in human brain, nerve tissue, heart, skin, kidneys, stomach and skeletal muscle tissue. The high levels of carnosine in the brain may serve as natural protection against excitotoxicity, copper and zinc toxicity, protein cross-linking and glycation, and especially oxidation of cell membranes.

Our laboratory produces 150mg capsules which contain carnosine and microcrystalline cellulose in a gelatin capsule. They are gluten, dairy and yeast free.

DOSE: The daily requirement has not yet been establised however anti-aging experts recommend 150mg a day on an empty stomach.

No major side effects have been reported. Alertness and insomina can occur at high doses.
