Methylcobalamin injections are available in a variety of strengths. The most common is 10mg/ml Methyl-B12 10ml. These injections must be stored in the freezer and are couriered overnight in an esky packed with ice. A prescription is required for supply to ensure someone with some knowledge on injectables is involved with the administration. The dose can vary greatly depending on what it is being used to treat but generally a common dose would be 0.1-0.2ml (1-2mg) injected subcutaneously each day. Some of our patients are now using the needle-free injector for painless Methyl-B12 injections.
